10 MOMENTS FROM JAB WE MET WE CAN STILL RELATE TO 10 YEARS LATER

It was a game-changer when it came out in 2007 and worked at establishing Imtiaz Ali as a mainstream director. Ten years later, Jab We Met is still as fresh in our hearts. Starring Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor in lead roles, the film is romantic-comedy that became the benchmark for many more to come. Some even say that Geet (Kareena Kapoor) is one of Imtiaz's best written characters till date. You may or may not agree with that statement, but you can't deny that Jab We Met gave us some extremely memorable moments, so much so that today, a decade after the film was released, we can still recall most of them; in fact we use dialogues from the film in our daily lives. Now that's an impact. Here are 10 of our most favourite moments from the film:

1. The sheer confidence with which Geet delivers this dialogue

Admit it, you've used this line multiple times in your college life and even after. If you're a 20-something Indian girl, you know what this means.

2. Defining and redefining love was the theme of the film

This single dialogue shows how Kareena's character has matured in the film, a shift that was crucial to the story.

3. A dialogue that is extremely popular in your friend circle

Every group has that one person who can chat and talk nonsense non-stop. This one, uttered by Shahid's character, is dedicated to all of those people.

4. Many girls grow up with this dream

Marriages are the holy grail, at least in North India, and it isn't surprising to see young girls using this dialogue to portray that feeling.

5. That feeling of falling in love

You know when you're falling in love but you're not supposed to but you can't help yourself. Geet and Aditya's journey in the film initially brings out these feelings beautifully and this dialogue seals the deal on Shahid's feelings for Kareena in the film.

6. #Gyaan ki baat

This dialogue put into words what women across India were feeling and gave them a chance to speak about it unabashedly.

7. Too full of yourself?

For every chatterbox girl, who thinks too highly of herself, and is bordering on narcissism.

8. Sikhni Swag from Bhatinda is FOR-EVERRRRR!

You go girl!

9. The one and only piece

How many times have we used this line on people? May not always be in a romantic context :p

10. That feeling you get when something's amiss

This dialogue is just a reminder to always trust your gut.
