Joy Chatterjee (Abir Chatterjee) is a smart, overtly ambitious and handsome corporate guy who is no nonsense but dedicated and focused guy in control of his company. However, his fiancée Dr. Aditi Roy (Jaya Ahsan) is a character who is in complete contrast to him. By profession she is a pediatrician. She is compassionate and kind; emotions which Joy lacks. This makes her go completely at loggerheads with Joy, who she feels is very self centered. In a twist of events, Joy goes missing. What happens after that is what the whole film all about Aditi Roy. Jaya Ahsan who had played the role of Abir in Aborto plays the role of pediatrician Aditi Roy in Aami Joy Chatterjee, produced by Shivanggi Chowdharry and directed by Manoj Michigan.

Director Manoj Michigan who had raised the bar with his previous offering '89', has come up with yet another interesting fare called 'Aami Joy Chatterjee', which is a psychological journey which will take you on a roller  coaster ride. The film is based on soul travel with specific humanitarian outputs.

It is the debut film of enterprising and young producer Shivanggi Chowdharry. Bangladesh actress Jaya Ahsan stars opposite Abir this time after her films like Aborto and Bisarjon, playing a deft supporting role as Aditi.Shataf Figar does justice to his small role as ACP Dutta while on the technical side, Manas Ganguly works wonders with his camera. The film has been shot mostly in Kolkota, with some portions in Darjeeling, Siliguri and Kalimpong. Raja Narayan Deb has composed melodious and soothing music of the film which definitely complements the story. The editor of the film by Sankalp Bhowmick ought to have been slicker.

Though the screenplay leaves a lot to be desired at times, with its languid style of  storytelling and repetitive takes, Abir Chatterjee is a one-man army and as Joy Chatterjee, will compel you to reconstruct yourself and the film is a must watch.
