Akshay Kumar’s Super-Shubh Mangal Opening -Sasurjee Superstar Rajesh Khanna Must Be Smiling From ‘Up There’

Even as his space-centric engaging family entertainer ( especially the kids are loving it)  movie ‘Mission Mangal’ with the desh-bhakti undercurrent,  has crossed Rs 29 crores mark on Day One and is expected to eventually join the Rs 200 crores Club , mega-star actor and super-khiladi Akshay Kumar seems to be taking the euphoric jubilation in his modest stride. Enthuses the unassuming Akshay,”The motive behind making this film, was also to inspire maximum kids and develop their active interest in science. Their excited responses is real success for me, not the box office numbers,” insists Kumar. The entire cast including Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, Sonakshi Sinha, Kirti Kulhari, and Nithya Menen  and of course R Balki and director Jagan Shakti are all rejoicing.  Interestingly, what escaped everyone’s memory was  this ‘surreal coincidence’. The day the trailer of ‘Mission Mangal’ was launched –on July 18^th,  it  happened to be the seventh death anniversary of Bollywood’s first superstar Rajesh Khanna, who happens to be Akshay Kumar’s legendary father-in-law.  At one of his interviews in the past, with this senior film-correspondent during his life-time,  the charismatic Khanna stated it was his “ardent dream-wish to share screen-space with my star son-in-law Akshay Kumar in a movie, provided both our roles are extraordinary. But I know for sure he will be a long-running superstar  with his brilliant choice of films and amazing perferomances.”  . Unfortunately, due to his shocking untimely demise following his critical illness, Kaka-ji ( that's what showbiz folks fondly called the Khanna)  passed away before his 'dream' could materialize.  Goes without saying, that the sentimental Rajesh Khanna must have blessed Akshay’s latest on-screen space-mission, from up above. Had he been alive, he would have been so proud of his super-talented daamad’s phenomenal success.
