Anup Jalota Says Suresh Wadkar Is The Real Bhajan Samrat & Anuradha Poudwal The Real Queen Of Bhajans, While He Himself Is The Bigg Boss Of Bhajans

Shemaroo Entertainment announced the launch of its Shemaroo Bhakti Studio , India’s first ever platform in the devotional music  space to introduce new talent to the industry yesterday at the Hotel Orchid in presence of Suresh Wadkar, Anup Jalota , Vaishali Samant and Sanjeevani Belande. Also present on the occasion as singer Shona Gonsalves. Saroj Khan who was also supposed to be present as the three mentors, besides Anup Jalota and Suresh Wadkar was conspicuous by her absence due to her deteriorating health condition.

On the occasion, Anup Jalota said the idea of Shemaroo Bhakti Studios was to unearth new singing talents of Bhajan songs. While Anup Jalota called Suresh Wadkar as the real Bhajan Samrat, and Anuradha Poudwal thye real bjahan queen, said that he was only the big boss of Bhajans and added that bhajans offered a platform which is bigger than even films. The idea of Shemaro Studios is to ensure that singers who do not have a platform are given their mown platform to display their singing prowess in bhajans.

Anup Jalota added that the problem with the youth today is that they have ample number of choices of music, besides bhajans unlike in the past when there were ghazals, bhajans and film music alone. Anup said everyone should sing any song by giving it a thadka of devotion to make it a bhajan to ensure that bhajans do not become extinct. To begin with, he said that ten new singers will be unearthed to continue with the tradition of bhajans. Suresh Wadkar pulled Anup Jalota’s leg by telling that Anup Jalota lean ho gaye bhajan mein hinting of his so called romance with Jasleen Matharu during his tryst with the Bigg Boss house.

Hiren Gada, CEO, Shemaroo Entertainment said that Shermaroo Bhakti Studio is a contemporary devotional format that will give an opportunity  to young talents to follow the path of success and become as popular as their existing mentors and added that  theirs is not an academy to learn bhajan singing but a centre to fine-tune their talents and polish their singing. As it is an experimental, Shemaroo will not bind them to any contract he concluded.
