"Jaanam Samjha Karo" is a Bollywood romantic drama film directed by Andaleb Sultanpuri. It has been 25 years since the film was released on 2 April 1999. This was the directorial debut of Sultanpuri, son of the legendary lyricist Majrooh Sultanpuri, and it remains his only film behind the camera. Film stars Salman Khan, Urmila Matondkar, Shakti Kapoor, Monica Bedi, and Shammi Kapoor

The story revolves around Chandni, a nightclub singer and dancer played by Urmila Matondkar, and Rahul, a wealthy womanizer portrayed by Salman Khan. When Rahul's traditional grandfather (played by the veteran Shammi Kapoor) visits India, Rahul enlists Chandni to pretend to be his wife. Laughter and complications ensue as Chandni navigates this charade, but amidst the pretense, real emotions begin to blossom.

"Jaanam Samjha Karo" was filmed in various locations across West London, including Heathrow, Hounslow, and Hayes. While the film itself achieved average box office success, the music by Anu Malik became a chart-topping sensation. All the songs, except "Kisi Ne Humse Kiya Hai Vaada" composed by Anand-Milind, were penned by Majrooh Sultanpuri himself.  "Main Ladki Akeli" stood out with lyrics by Anu Malik. Tracks like the title song "Jaanam Samjha Karo" and the soulful "Dil Hi Dil Mein" remain popular even today.

Despite its average box office performance, "Jaanam Samjha Karo" holds a place in the hearts of Bollywood fans for its charming cast, comedic situations, and unforgettable music that continues to be enjoyed.
