Kabir Khan Says It Was His Passion To See The World That Made Him Decide To Make Documentaries And Feature Films

I bumped into the ever affable filmmaker Kabir Khan who had churned out the hit Salman Khan –Katrina starrer Ek Tha Tiger and Bajrangi Bhaijaan recently and is all set to come up with his next film 1983 recently. Kabir said excitedly, “I have always looked at locales as the characters in my film and not as just the backdrops. I confess I decided to take up making documentaries and feature films only because I was driven by the passion to see the world. Some films of mine could not have been told had I not shot them in the places where I had shot them, whether it was New York or Kabul Express. My next film 1983 with Ranveer Singh essaying the role of the cricketer Kapil Dev will be entirely short in London because that’s where the world cup was held. I confess it has been great not only to get to travel around the world but also get paid for the same. Several VFX guys have offered to shoot the same foreign locales for me in Mumbai in their studios but m y soul does not let me accept their offers and compromise.”
