While Hrithik Roshan ‘takes off’ with his commanding presence---‘unwell’ Deepika Padukone misses ‘Fighter’ trailer launch on high-flying ‘Kites-festival’ day by Chaitanya Padukone

On August 11, 2023, just three days before Independence Day, the patriotic emotional thriller Gadar-2  starring Sunny Deol-Ameesha Patel was released and emerged as a blockbuster mega-hit! On January 25th, 2024, just one day before Republic Day, the YRF patriotic dramatic war-thriller Fighter starring Hrithik Roshan-Deepika Padukone-Anil Kapoor will be released. Will cinematic history repeat itself?   Will fantastic yet realistic ‘Fighter’ emerge among the top musical-action mega-blockbusters, of 2024--- remains to be seen.

 

Fighter Trailer Launch on Makar Sankranti with Hrithik

Today on Makar Sankranti Day ( Jan 15th) also the ‘Kite-Flying’ day festival, the trailer of Fighter was released ( 04 days after Hrithik’s 50th birthday) in the presence of the excited cast comprising Hrithik, Anil Kapoor, and director Siddharth Anand at Jio-Plaza Mall—PVR-Inox-A-Maison at BKC, Mumbai.

It is interesting to note that Hrithik Roshan acted as the lead in a Hindi movie titled Kites (2010 ) opposite Mexican actress Barbara Mori. “Generally Kites fly against the wind and not with it, stronger the wind blows, the higher the kites fly,’ Kite's film director Anurag Basu then explained

In a  disappointing twist-turn of events, mega-star heroine Deepika Padukone 'missed' the trailer launch event of Hrithik Roshan starrer “Fighter”. The actress took to her Instagram story on January 15th to share the unfortunate news, symbolically citing her illness as the reason behind her absence.

In a heartfelt message, Padukone expressed her regret about missing the event, addressing her team as her ‘squadron’ with a series of “emojis” depicting apparent illness. She extended her best wishes to the Fighter team with a punch emoji, indicating her support despite her inability to attend the trailer launch. Her message read, “Will miss my Squadron (multiple emojis with ill faces) Good Luck Team! (punch emoji) #Fighter #Fightertrailer.”

“Fighter,” directed by Siddharth Anand and co-written by Anand and Ramon Chibb, boasts an ensemble cast featuring Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone, Anil Kapoor, Akshaye Oberoi, Karan Singh Grover, Sanjeeda Shaikh, and Talat Aziz.

The film Fighter marks Hrithik and Deepika's first-ever on-screen collaboration. It has been primarily shot at air bases in India with real Sukhois, Indian fighter planes. Squadron Leader Shamsher Pathania (Hrithik), Squadron Leader Minal Rathore (Deepika), and Group Captain Rakesh Jai Singh (Anil Kapoor) along with their elite Indian Air Force (IAF) Air Dragons unit give it their all for the nation in the first proper glimpse at the aerial action film. The film has primarily been shot at air bases in India with real Sukhois, Indian fighter planes.

Alleged militant terror activities are going out of control in the Srinagar Valley, so a new and elite unit, Air Dragons, is commissioned by the Air Headquarters. They are now the first daring responders to any hostile activity.
