Lovesick Premiered In Mani

The documentary Lovesick talks about matchmaking in HIV patients. With the annual Mumbai film festival MAMI in full swing, audiences are gearing up to catch the much anticipated documentary LOVESICK that premiered today at the 20th edition of the festival. Directed by Anne S. Kim and Priya Giri Desai, the film is a highly topical documentary about a pioneering doctor turned matchmaker, who seeks the perfect spouses for her HIV+ patients.Eight years in the making, LOVESICK captures the ups and downs, secrecy, and stigma of searching for love when you’re living with HIV.Filmmaker Priya Giri Desai, said “This is a film that has taken a lot for everyone involved. The sensitivity of the film given its subject and the purity of intention that Dr. Solomon had while helping these patients was something we had to do justice to.”“We hope the audiences love the film as do Karthik and Manu who are seeing it for the first time. This film is a lot more than just about finding love. It’s about hope and breaking the stigma” added Anne S. Kim, the co-director of Lovesick. The film that was presented at DOC NYC this year is being presented in the Discovering India section of the festival.
