Inane and Predictable!

Jyothi Venkatesh

A 27-year-old salesman Rajiv (Varun Sharma) has to sell a water purifier within his deadline but he struggles to do it most of the times. One Friday, in order to save his job he has to install the purifier by any chance. Rajiv heads to an apartment and finds Gagan Kapoor’s (Govinda) house, who has an illegal relationship with the wife of a  bumbling cop (Rajesh Sharma)

It is the story of Rajiv (Varun Sharma) whose life is filled with problems. His job at PP Purifier is at stake and his girlfriend has just dumped him. He has been given a deadline till Friday to sell at least one purifier or else he will lose his job. His savior is the wife of Rajiv (Govinda) who tells him to get the purifier to their house on Friday, which coincidentally is the day she has to go out for some NGO work to Shimla. However, on arrival, he finds Gagan, who has his mistress Bindu (Digangana Suryavashi) at home. What follows is an in-house comedy with misunderstandings and clichéd supporting characters like a thief and a cop.

Though he is in top form, I feel that with flops like Aa Gaya Hero and now FryDay, it’s high time that Govinda decided to retire. With the exception of minor traces of the Govinda we loved and adored, especially in the theatre scene, there’s nothing redeemable about this sad film! Varun Sharma is the saving grace while the less said about Digangana Suryavanshi, who plays Govinda’s mistress and Prabhleen Sandhu (who plays his devout wife), the better.

The film which is reminiscent of Govinda’s erstwhile films like Biwi No 1, Hero No 1 etc, is predictable and what’s more very inane to the core. Avoid it, if possible!
