PVR Pictures Expands Its Film Slate With Marquee Titles Across Languages

PVR Pictures Limited, the motion picture arm of PVR Limited - the largest cinema exhibition company in India, expands the horizon with announcement of its unparalleled film slate including Hindi, English and Regional language films.

Establishing itself as a pioneer in showcasing path breaking films that deserve to be seen in India, PVR Pictures has carved an important position in the industry and has consolidated its pole position in the Independent foreign language film segment.

Sanjeev Kumar Bijli, Joint Managing Director, PVR Ltd. said “Our film slate shows clearly the direction I would like PVR Pictures to take. We are all about finding beautiful films, preferably featuring strong leads, that resonate powerfully at an emotional level. We are always looking out for festival hits and at the same time we are also respectful towards the more commercial fare. This years’ slate includes big spectacles such as ‘Angel Has Fallen’, ‘Rambo: Last Blood’, Roland Emmerich’s ‘Mid Way’, ‘21 Bridges’, ‘The Aeronauts’ packaged with little gems such as Asif Kapadia’s ‘Diego Maradona’, ‘Current War’, ‘The Boy II’, ‘My Spy’, The Informers’ and more, all slated for release in FY 2019-20”.

Commenting on the expansive Hindi and Regional language film line up, Kamal Gianchandani , CEO, PVR Pictures said “to engage India’s diverse audience, in association with established players such as Reliance Entertainment and Panorama Studios, we have lined up a slate of exceptional films such as ‘Super 30’, ‘Batla House’, ‘Section 375, ‘Khuda Hafiz’ and some more to be announced shortly. With acquisition of SPI Cinemas, which has a key presence in the State of Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Andhra, PVR Pictures will be aggressively expanding its presence in Tamil and Telugu industry. We expect to release a total of 15+ Tamil & Telugu films in their home market, all within FY 2019-20”.
