Rajan Shahi congratulates mother and co-producer Deepa Shahi on winning the Super Achiever Producer award

Rajan Shahi: When it comes to India's most popular TV shows, Director Kut's ‘Anupamaa’ is often the first name that comes to mind. Right from its release, the show has received immense love from its audience. The show managed to survive even during the worst of the COVID-19 lockdown and remained one of India's top shows throughout.

The captivating storyline, outstanding production value, and amazing performances from the actors of ‘Anupamaa’ has led to the show’s massive success. Deepa Shahi, co-producer of Anupamaa and mother of ace director/producer Rajan Shahi, was recently felicitated by the Indian Television Wonder Women Awards. She received an award for producing India's most successful show.

On this achievement, Rajan Shahi says, “It’s very encouraging to know that ‘Anupamaa’, produced by my mother (Deepa Shahi) and I (under Shahi Productions Pvt Ltd.) is the highest-rated show and is loved by all kinds of audiences across the country.

This is our first show together and today when I was with my mother on the same stage, I felt so proud and grateful that we’ve been able to achieve this together. Our work gives me immense joy. Whatever I am today — my success, fame —, I  owe it all to my mother. She is someone who has a great passion for making good shows.

It’s especially a great feeling since a mother produces a show based on another dedicated mother like ‘Anupamaa’. On my mother’s behalf, I would like to thank my cast and crew; Without them, this would have been not possible and I’m also thankful to our loyal audience who are our greatest supporters.”
