Saurabh Pandey is refreshed after an exotic trip to Sri Lanka. The actor made sure to visit all the tourist spots and had an amazing time. “I went to a lot of places in Sri Lanka but majorly, we were located in Colombo. We had decided to stay for three days but then we extended our trip by 3 more days. Sri Lanka is very reasonable and it is an awesome place to go to because we see a mixture of western and our culture. In Sri Lanka, Buddhism is the most followed and practised religion there and there are lots of historical temples of Buddha, where Gautam Buddha had actually visited, meditated and given lectures so it is just amazing,” he says, “We visited most places in Colombo and outside Colombo city, we went to Minneriya National Park. There is the Dambulla cave where people say that Buddha had visited and meditated. Other than that, we went to Gangaramaya Temple, it’s a very sacred temple.”

The zoo was an amazing experience for the actor. “In Colombo, we had a great time at the National Zoo. We spent time with the tigers when they were not inside their cages but in close proximity to us. There was just a glass between the tigers and us, it was just amazing. The tiger was coming right to the glass and trying to touch us and on the other side there was a cage and the lioness came and looked right into my eyes. It was great fun. In fact, a monkey held my finger tightly and it felt like he knew me from before,” he says.

Saurabh tried and loved the local cuisine there as well. “The major cuisine in Sri Lanka is seafood. We enjoyed that a lot. There is also something known as Pittu which is made of rice and coconut. We tried a lot of things there; crab curry, vegetarian curry, dal curry, dal rice. It’s very similar to Indian food which we eat, more on the southern side of India,” he says.
