SUMEET VYAS ON VDW : IT IS A VERY BALANCED ENSEMBLE FILM

Sumeet Vyas

After High Jack which was a stoner comedy film, Sumeet Vyas is excited about his next release Veere di Wedding which is a female buddy movie and revolves around a unique concept of friendship. The movie features Kareena Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania. Apart from the ladies, Sumeet Vyas is the central male actor in the movie. In a recent conversation with indianexpress.com, Sumeet expressed her thoughts what was it to be the main guy around so many ladies.

Sumeet said, "It doesn’t mean all that actually. There are so many ladies and it is essentially a female-centric film. It’s about the four girls and I happen to be the only guy in that. So, it’s fun. It is a very jovial film. It was a very jovial set. And it is a very balanced ensemble film. I read the script and I felt it was a very balanced script. That is the best part about the film."

Talking more about how he got on-board for the film, he said, "It was a very regular thing. I screen tested and I didn’t know which actors were in this one. I was just screen testing for a part. Later on, I got to know that it’s a big budget thing. But more than everything else, I was really excited to work with Shashanka Ghosh because I’ve followed his work over the years. I really like him as a person. So that was the biggest draw for me. He is a very quirky guy.”

Sumeet will be seen opposite to Kareena in the movie. Talking about the experience, he said, "It was lovely. She is very professional. She is a star, but after a point when you are working on a set, you are just working with actors and you forget about the whole charade that happens before and after that. So in that sense, I don’t really think of those things on set.”

Veere di Wedding will hit the theatres on June 1.
