Although there is speculation that Govinda may contest the Lok Sabha elections from Mumbai North West Lok Sabha seat on the Shiv Sena ticket, Govinda said, "CM Shinde will decide on contesting the Lok Sabha elections." Shinde said that Govinda has not set any conditions for joining the army and he has joined only after being impressed by the work of the government and wants to work for the development of the film industry.
