TED TALKS INDIA NAYI SOCH: EKTA KAPOOR OPENS UP LIKE NEVER BEFORE!

The queen of daily soaps Ekta Kapoor who has been entertaining the viewers for decades shared her inspirational journey on the Star Plus new show TED Talks India Nayi Soch. The producer took to the stage of Ted Talks India and speak her heart out to inspire lots of women out there by saying that women should never be underestimated.

Starting from her early days of struggle when top-rated channels rejected her initial projects, she also talks about that how her father Jeetendra fought against the people's old mentality and support his useless daughter.  “For my brother’s education abroad, my mother had to pawn her jewellery and my father invested all his money through me.” One person even told her father, “You should have bought her gold instead. In reply her father said that "gold should be within her, what will she do with gold outside?’” The faith bestowed upon her by her father made her even more determined. Her first daily Hum Paanch became successful and her real journey begun from there on. Ekta added that she would also like to mentor more girls and women and she also encouraged them to find the gold in themselves!

In her speech, Ekta also spoke about her daily soap's popular female characters and how she tried to empower women through those shows during that time. As her shows had females playing the heroes and even the villains.

Ekta added in her speech that anything you want to do the passion is very important for it but for women, it is difficult to give priority to her passion because she has to play many roles in her life. So, ultimately passion becomes secondary for women and to put other’s needs before them. She said if you want to dance on an item song then just do it forget about people judgements for it.

At present, powers of the queen of the silver screen are not limited to television only as she extends her work by making Bollywood films and launching her own digital platform named Alt Balaji which helps her to connect with the younger generation.  Last year she joined hand with director Alankrita Shrivastava and came up with a film Lipstick Under My Burkha which highlighted the issues related to women and their fantasies.
