Anjum  Fakih  , who will be seen in Ekta Kapoor and Anand Mishra’s BCL, will be playing for the Azamgarh Royals this year. The actor tells JYOTHI VENKATESH that the audience is sure to love this season.

Since how many years you are playing BCL?

This is my 2nd association with BCL. Earlier I was associated with Kota Royals and this time I am representing Azamgarh Royals.

Do you watch cricket matches as well?

Although, it gets a little difficult to keep track of all the matches owing to my shoot schedule. But I do try to catch up with the matches whenever India is playing.

Which is your favourite Test matches, One day or T20 matches?

It’s difficult to pick one, since I love the game in all formats.

This year Cricket World Cup is also coming what are the chances of India this time?

Like everyone in the country, I am looking forward to the Cricket World Cup too. Our players are very talented and the team looks very promising. So, I believe India stands a fair chance at bringing back the World Cup.

BCL is a perfect combination of glamour and entertainment what is your take on that.

BCL is a complete package. It has glamour, entertainment and cricket packaged together. The audience will love all the drama that will happen on the field.

You are a popular face of TV so people want to see different side of you in BCL. What should they expect?

Viewers have seen me as Shrishti on television. Through BCL, they will get to see what Anjum is like in real life. They can expect a lot of dhamaal and entertainment and yes, of course, lots and lots of cricket!

BCL is famous for controversies. What is your take on that?

I think BCL is a perfect blend of entertainment and cricket. I am sure the viewers will enjoy the drama and nail-biting moments. There are fights on the field, but all of it is in good spirit and we all take it very sportingly.

The youth loved BCL last year on MTV. The youth audiences loved it. Comment.

The format of BCL is such that it keeps the youth intrigued and hooked on. I am glad that the audiences are showering BCL with so much love. I hope fans love the latest season of BCL too.

I believe that Ekta has the Midas touch. She is a thought leader and a trendsetter in many ways.  She inspires us all to think out of the box and take that leap of faith. I am extremely grateful that I got an opportunity to work with her.
