Working With Shahid Kapoor Has Taught Me A Lot, Says Kunal Thakur

The new actor in the block is Kunal Thakur who will be playing Shahid Kapoor’s friend in his latest movie Kabir Singh.  Kunal was born and brought up in Abu Dhabi and in the later part of his life moved to Pune and did his graduation in marketing and then did master in marketing from London. Interestingly, Kunal also started working for a Dubai based MNC firm as a media buyer and planner. His potential in the acting craft was first discovered by his mom. Kunal is playing Kamal one of the best buddy of Kabir Singh from college in the film.  Speaking more about the experience he says,”Working with Shahid was great fun. We had lots of laughter on the set. He is a superstar and very humble. RIght from the initial introductions, we had a sense of bonding but we broke the ice during our reading sessions. Shahid and me spoke about music and we connect on it as we listen to the same kind.” He also adds,“Whenever I faced any problem while giving shots on the set Shahid has always helped me and guided me. He could as he has been here in this industry for so long and as a newcomer to get someone like him was really inspiring. When I saw him performing as Kabir Singh on the sets, it was a great learning. Seeing the intensity and how much he has given to Kabir Singh, I felt I should do a role like this which will have extreme emotions. That will give me a lot of charge. Watching him perform was great. Shahid is a marvellous dancer and a great actor. I see an actor as a performer and when you see how it has been done on the set is a great learning. Working with Shahid Kapoor has taught me a lot. I like Shahid’s Udta Punjab, Kaminey, Vivah and also Dil Mange More.”
