10 TYPES OF PEOPLE YOU WILL FIND IN THE BIGG BOSS HOUSE EVERY SEASON

You can love it or hate it, but you can't deny that Bigg Boss is one of the most entertaining reality shows on television today. Despite having pretty much the same premise for the past 11 years, it has managed to capture the audience's interest every single time. Each season comes with a crazy mix of characters locked up together, and needless to say, no other show on TV comes close to it in terms of TRPs for the time that it is being aired.

But, if you're an ardent follower, you will have figured out that there's a pattern to the way characters are selected. The makers hunt for distinct characters who will make the show more dramatic and indulge in controversies, love, politics and tasks. We've narrowed it down to these 10 types.

1. The Drama Queen/King

"Jo dikhta hai, vahi bikta hai"—this statement is probably more true for Bigg Boss than any other show on Indian television, even though drama is the premise for all of them. You know how house members try and make their stay as dramatic as possible to make their way into the audience's hearts. There's a reason you remember some names more than others—Priyanka  Jagga, Mandana Karimi, Rakhi Sawant, Swami Om and Rahul Mahajan—from different seasons. They all follow the same basic principle, to be as dramatic as possible.

2.  The crybaby

These kinds sustain through sympathy votes. And every single season of the show has one of these cry babies who try and move up the ladder by crying their way out of every situation. Some do it better than others and seem more genuine but by the end of the show, you know who these are. Contestants like Gauhar Khan,  Shweta Tiwari, Mahek Chahal, Dimpy Ganguly, Kamya Punjabi, VJ Andy have not missed any chance inside the Bigg Boss house to cry. They all always had reasons to shed tears. Either they pick up the reason from the house only and if not they start lamenting their real life problems.

3. The Motormouth

Ooooh! These are my favourite. Not a care in the world about their image or dignity, these people will continue to speak non-stop just to prove they're there. Abuses, anger issues, rants—they do it all and that's how they get more screen space than the other contestants out there.

 4. The Lovebirds

If you know the Indian mindset, you also know that nothing can really succeed without a love story in the picture. And considering that a bunch of strangers are locked up together for 90 days, this isn't very hard to find. If you're lucky, you'll even get love triangles, because clearly one partner isn't enough for the three months of the show. You know who we're talking about! Gauhar-Kushal, Armaan-Tanisha, Rahul Mahajan-Payal Rohtagi, Upen Patel-Karishma Tanna—do all of these names ring a bell? Show jeetne ke liye kuch bhi karega, jootha pyaar bhi!

5. The Peacemaker

Now if there are fighters, there has to be someone who has to bring these fights to an end as well. Enter peacemaker, the one calming personality who is above all the petty fighting and tries to maturely handle conflict. And these are people you can pretty much spot in the first episode. Are these people like this in real life? Most probably not, but then who said Bigg Boss was all about honesty.

6. King/Queen of controversies

Controversy is essential for show business. If controversies do not happen in Bigg Boss then what is the whole point of the expensive setup. Bina masale ka toh khana nhi khate log toh Bigg Boss kis khaet ki muli hai? The audiences only consume controversial content. Plain and simple is not our style. Imam Siddique, Priyanka Jagga, Swami Om, Dolly Bindra are some kings and queens of controversies.

7. The  Player

These are the ones who aren't happy with one or even two love affairs. They have to try and flirt with everyone of the opposite gender, whether they're committed, single or unsure of their relationship status. Prince Narula, Ejaz Khan, Ashmit Patel haven't missed a single chance to flirt with the house ladies. Who do you think is the flirt this season?

8. The crazy psycho

We don't use to use mental health terms in such a derogatory way, but sometimes there's no other way to describe someone who thrives on creating chaos just go get attention. Similar to the motormouth, but not quite, these people will go to any lengths to ensure things don't go smoothly. Just when you think things are working out, bam, there they are with their evil ways. Imam Siddique and Swami Om are the best example for it they both use some of the cheap tactics to win the show.

9. The gossip monger

There is without a doubt, always someone, who believes in digging up the past and then bombarding contestants with insights of others' lives. These people add to the drama by bitching behind everyone's back and indulging in every form of gossip possible. Naturally, they make headlines because without them, baat idhar ki udhar kaun karega?

10. The Lazy bum

Last but not the least, the procrastinators take centre stage. They shy away from every task and will never complete a chore on time. After all, if all the energy is spent on fighting and gossiping, there's hardly any left to do some real work. VJ Bani, Rimi Sen, Sophia Hayat, Ali Quli Mirza, and Yuvika Choudhary are some of the top names on the list.

Which of the current Bigg Boss characters fit the bill this time? Let us know in the comments.
