If there is one fitness movement that has struck a chord with celebrities of all ages, then yoga probably takes the top spot. Be it the quirky Miley Cyrus or our desi diva Bipasha Basu, celebrities are eagerly rolling out their mats to get their fitness game on. We take a look at the top names, from Bollywood and Hollywood, who swear by the practice.

1. Shilpa Shetty Kundra

Actor Shilpa Shetty credits her fabulous body to her consistent yoga practice. And according to her it is yoga that helped her achieve her pre-pregnancy figure within a mere five months after giving birth to her son. 2. Jennifer Aniston

Famous for her role in TV series as Rachel Green, Jennifer Anniston swears by Yoga as the practice that has helped her stay young and in shape all these years. With the help of her yoga instructor, Mandy Ingber, she looks naturally gorgeous even at the age of  46.

3. Robert Downey Jr

The Iron Man actor, who is waiting for his film's release on July 7, credits yoga for helping him battle multiple addictions and achieve a mental and physical balance. He was recently on the cover of Men's Fitness magazine where he spoke at length about his experience learning yoga under the guidance of instructor Vinnie Mario.

4. Julia Roberts

The talented actor is the complete opposite of her character's confused, unmanageable self in Eat, Pray, Love. In real life, Roberts, who started practicing yoga during the filming of the movie, takes her practice very seriously.

5. Madonna

After being introduced to yoga, she had once stated, "I'm done with gym now." Madonna practices Ashtanga Yoga,—a practice that focuses on dynamic movements and the transition between postures. Many celebrities practice this as an alternative to cardio workouts.

6. Hugh Jackman

Hugh Jackman has admitted to being a complete yoga "fanatic" several times. For him, the practice started in the early 2000s and he credited Meg Ryan for turning him into a "yoga-person" in a 2001 article published in American Daily. He delved deeper into the subject during the filming of The Fountain in 2006 and has been hooked ever since.

7. Kareena Kapoor Khan

Kareena had convinced the whole world of the power of yoga when she revealed her super-toned body in Tashan. Now, after giving birth to baby boy Taimur, she has once again turned to the ancient practice under the guidance of celebrity yoga instructor, Anuskha Parwani, to regain her zero-figure. The actor is practicing a newly-developed technique called FlyFit which blends anti-gravity yoga with aerial pilates.

8. Lara Dutta

Lara Dutta, who was crowned Miss Universe in 2000, has been a yoga practitioner for over 12 years. Her daily routine involves walking twice a day, yoga, hot yoga and swimming. Like Shilpa Shetty, she too has released videos on yoga.

Nargis Fakhri is reportedly obsessed with Hatha Yoga. She credits her amazing body to the practice. In an interview with Hindustan times, she had said, "I believe in yoga and it helps me maintain my body without getting into any charted regime.”

10. Siddharth Malhotra

Siddharth Malhotra is the latest celeb to join the yoga club. He is being trained in Ashtanga yoga under the guidance of celebrity yoga instructor, Suveer Bali, who also trains the likes of Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna. Siddharth still continues to go to the gym but cannot stop raving about the benefits of yoga.

Sushmita Sen calls yoga "a way of life", something that makes it easier to discipline the mind and the body. She admits to yoga being responsible for her body and looks as well as credits it for her success. Her Idea of yoga is to gain flexibility and balance in the body.
