Our way of life has drastically changed due to the COVID-19 virus and the call for social distancing in 2020. These changes have challenged artists, filmmakers, venues and film festivals. In 2020 the Cyprus International Film Festival accepts the challenges of the era and partners with the platform INSPIRE-TV.com to provide a big screen for humanity, a ‘welcoming home’ for independent artists and filmmakers and a community for a selective and demanding audience.

Over the years we have had the privilege to work with hundreds of artists and filmmakers who have told wonderful stories. Many have gone on to make great films in different genres. The Cyprus International Film Festival again makes the difference in the film world by inviting all selected and awarded films of independent filmmakers who participated in Cyprus International Film Festivals since 2006 to enter the distribution platform Inspire-TV.com

The 15th edition of the Cyprus International Film Festival is under the auspices of the Municipality of Nicosia and will be held in the Melina Mercouri Cultural Center in Old Nicosia from 17/11 to 21/11/2020. In addition to the live and online screenings there will be discussion and networking panels as well as the photo exhibition “FotoMessage – Balancing at the Green Line” in cooperation with the Cyprus Photographic Society of Nicosia.

The call for entries for short and feature films in various genres and categories, but mainly debut directors, is still open at Filmfreeway until the 24th of October; you can use the discount code INSPIRETV50. For the exhibition “FotoMessage – Balancing at the Green Line” digital photos can be emailed to cyiff2020@gmail.com until Wednesday, November 4, 2020. Photo dimensions must be 40cm X 55cm.
