The much-loved Bollywood film Lagaan completes 21 years today. On this occasion, actor Akhilendra Mishra, who played the role of Arjan Lohar in the highly acclaimed Oscar-nominated film, has reminisced memories connected to the film.
Taking to micro-blogging platform Koo, Mishra shared a memorable video from the film."21 years of Lagaan. June 15, 2001-2022” - Kooed Mishra.
In this Aamir Khan starrer, the plot revolved around a fictional village in pre-independence India where the British had imposed a land tax on citizens, and how by beating the Brits to a game of cricket, the villagers are able to free their land of the dreaded tax.
Recently, Mishra had narrated memories during the shoot of the film. He said, “The routine during the shooting of Lagaan was amazing. The most wonderful thing was we used to sit in the bus at six in the morning.
The bus was named Actors Bus and Aamir Khan himself used to sit with us and go from the hotel to the shooting site.”He added, “In the early morning, the driver used to play Gayatri Mantra during the journey to the shooting site.
The Gayatri Mantra was turned off once we reached our location. And after that, we used to take our breakfast together.”
