3rd Annual ‘Iiftc Film Tourism Impact Awards’ Given Away In Mumbai

Ten movie directors felicitated for their impactful Contribution to the Film-Tourism at a glittering event held in Mumbai recently. Director Kabir Khan was honored with a Special Award for Outstanding Contribution towards growth of Cinema-Tourism At the event, several directors of movies of multi-languages whose films have contributed to the growth of the world tourism, were honored. Harshad Bhagwat - Founder & Director of IIFTC and Editor & Publisher of CinePort Magazine said, “While it is common practice for film makers to be honored for their exceptional achievements in the world of cinema , being honored for their contribution to tourism is a novel concept. IIFTC Tourism Impact Award recognizes the successful convergence of films and tourism and it celebrates Indian Film Makers whose cinema has contributed to the growth of the world tourism”.

The ten directors hand-picked for the award by the selection panel of experts are  Kabir Khan (Hindi) Puri Jagannath ( Telugu), Aniket Chattopadhyay (Bengali : Hochoi Unlimited) Location : Uzbekistan, Prem – Kannada (Movie : Villain) Location : UK & Scotland, A. Karunakaran – Telugu (Movie : Tej I Love You) Location : France, Luv Ranjan – Hindi (Movie : Sonu ke Titu Ki Sweety) Location : Georgia, Roshni Dinaker – Malayalam (Movie : My Story) Location : Portugal , Mani Ratnam - Tamil ( Movie : Chekka Chivantha Vaanam) Location : Serbia, Gajendra Ahire – Multilingual (Movie : Dear Molly) Location : Sweden and Rosshan Andrews – Malayalam (Movie: Kayamkulam Kochunni) Location: Sri Lanka.

Besides Award function the evening also marked the inauguration of the 7th Edition of IIFTC Conclave – India’s largest Locations Show in the august presence of Ambassadors, Consul Generals, Film Commissions and Tourism Representatives of over 20 countries. The glittering award event, which stood out byitself especially because there was not even a single gatecrasher was graced with the presence of celebrities in Bollywood and Television, Web Series and Fashion Models, including Manmohan Shetty, Ratan Jain, Gajendra Ahire, Rajeshwari, Anant Mahadevan, Ganesh Jain, Nileish Malhotra, Vinod Ganatra, Krishna Kotian etc.
