While speaking with Karan Johar on his chat show Koffee With Karan, Kangana said; “In my biopic, if it is ever made, you will play the stereotypical villain. One who is intolerant of outsiders.. the flag-bearer of nepotism in Bollywood and movie mafia.”

Later, Karan Johar, Varun Dhawan, and Saif Ali Khan took a dig at Kangana with their “Nepotism rocks” slogan at an award show. Karan and Varun apologized to Kangana, whereas Saif wrote an open letter to her, to which she replied; "Are you implying that artistic skills, hard-work, experience, concentration spans, enthusiasm, eagerness, discipline, and love, can be inherited through family genes? If your point was true, I would be a farmer back home."

When Shabana Azmi took the initiative to sign a petition asking PM for Deepika's protection, Kangana Ranaut chose not to sign it. When Kangana was asked regarding the same, she clarified her stance by stating Deepika has all her support, but she was a bit wary Azmi's objective behind this - as she was actively involved in left wing vs right wing politics.

“When I was fighting for equal pay, many women from my industry started fake articles that they are getting this, that. They started hiking their salaries through their PRs. They do not understand how they are harming themselves. What (change) can happen like this- by running someone down and overriding their cause with your own personal agendas? We have got to collectively fight for it. Women have such an inferior complex that they genuinely believe ki itna mil raha hai bahot hai, aur kya chahiye tumko (You are already getting so much. Why do you want more?)”
