A LETTER FROM A FAN TO THE MASTANI OF BOLLYWOOD- DEEPIKA PADUKONE

Dear Deepika,

Tere sath-sath aisa koi noor aaya hai, chand teri roshni ka halka se ek saaya hai...that was not the only time I fell in love with you. In the past 10 years, you gave me various reasons to love you and admire you as a fan. In this letter, I just want to confess some of those.

It's hard to believe, but it's already been a decade since you made your debut opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Om Shanti Om. From being a fangirl in the same to making millions of people skip a heartbeat just by a look from Padmavati, I have admired it all. Your grace, elegance and simplicity made me believe that you don't need to do extra but being yourself will make you conquer every single heart.

Watching your films, I thought that how could a person be so pretty and have such a beautiful soul which is somewhere reflected in all the roles you have played so far. The characters you played from Shanti Priya to Meera or from Piku to Mastani, I just feel, those characters reflect a part of your real personality which made those characters more lively and beautiful. So, be it Shantipriya or Veronica or Mastani, you have justified every role and have set the screen on fire. From playing a dream girl to actually becoming one, your journey has been mesmerizing and inspiring for me and all other millions of fans out there.

Deepika, not just your journey of films have made an impact on my life but your personal life too. When I saw you talking about a phase of your life where you told how you felt that time and the way you overcome it, I was convinced that the true sportsperson is still alive inside you. You brought many people back to life and taught them that it's not easy but is possible to fight depression. I being one of that person who learned the same from you and will always be thankful to you for teaching me that we get one life and we can't just give up but must fight back and cherish it.

Every single time I heard from you things like we shouldn’t take our achievements too seriously, just do our work and move on and if we enjoy our work, the rest happens on its own.  It gives me all the energy to do my work with all my heart and the result will definitely be a positive one.

You also taught me that how to love someone with all my heart. When I saw that you are madly in love with someone, it makes me fall for you once again because that person is not The Deepika Padukone but she is just a girl who loves someone with his positives/negatives and dares to confess it to the world in some manner or other.

When you read the letter from your father after receiving an award for Piku I had tears in my eyes as I felt such strong connection as my parents encourages and motivates me and my younger sister to pursue our dreams and stay grounded at the same time and that's how I saw that you were only a daughter and not a star reading a letter from her father. Even your mother mentioning about how you first start cleaning your house after entering it shows that how down to earth you are and you have not let the stardom affect your relations with your family members. I had respected you for all the different kinds of role you have played in different movies and for becoming successful but you became an inspiration to me for the person you are. It is the best which comes out of you when I saw you as you and not as Meera (Love Aaj Kal) Mastsni ( Bajirao Mastani) or any other role you have played because you are a beautiful person inside out Deepika and I love you for the same.

"The elegance and grace Shantipriya had,

And to meet Om how Sandy was mad

Mastani's skills to fight the world

Leela's courage to handle love and take responsibility at a tender age

Veronica's friendship and Meera's carefree nature,

To keep the child inside you alive was Tara's venture,

Piku as a daughter and Padmavati's first look

will always be read in Bollywood's good book,

But Deepika, you as yourself is my all time favourite

and have loved you and will do till the last date."

P.S.:- I totally surrender to your dimple wali killer smile and big beautiful eyes.

Sincerely,

An adoring fan
