AANJJAN WAGLE SRIVASTAV CAUGHT UNAWARES CLAD IN A LUNGI & GANJA WHEN SUMEET CALLED UP TO WISH HIM A HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Aanjjan Wagle Srivastav who is celebrating his 74th birthday today is exhilarated as the first thing he received this morning was a call from actor Sumit Raghavan who plays the role of the young Wagle, his son in the popular serial by J D Majethia- Wagle Ki Duniya, which is being shot in Silvassa briskly after the entire unit shifted bag baggage and location from Mumbai’s Mira Road, were they were shooting in a bio bubble and staying in a hotel nearby- Jyothi Venkatesh

What made Aanjjan more delirious was the fact that after Sumeet wished him a happy birthday, one by one, each and every actor on the sets chose to talk to him and wish him a happy birthday.

When I wished him a happy birthday this morning, Aanjaan confessed to me that though it has been over a month that the producer of the show J.D. Majethia had asked him as well as Bharathi Achrekar to take it easy and while away their time at home in Mumbai instead of rushing to Sylvasa to shoot for the ongoing serial because of the advent of the second phase of the dreaded CoronaVirus, he was overwhelmed to see that all the actors of the serial as well as the unit members of the serial remembered that his birthday is today and bothered to call him up to wish him in spite of the hectic schedule that they follow for the shooting day in and day out in Silvassa.

Aanjjan sheepishly confesses that he did not realize that it was a video call that Sumeet had made and he excused himself and got into a T- shirt to talk to them as he was clad in a lungi and ganja when the call came.

Aanjjan is happy that he is able to work with a producer like J.D. Majethia and a writer like Atish Kapadia who are very systematic and generous to the core as far as their actors are concerned.

“Though it is for the first time that I am working with J.D. Majethia as a producer, I have acted with J D Majethia as an actor and have known him from then IPTA days of his too

The best birthday gift that J.D. Majethia could give today to Aanjjan Srivastav was to assure him that he would call both Aanjjan and Bharathi to act in the show as for a long time their portions have not been shot or aired at all and due to the restrictions imposed by the pandemic and the resultant lockdown imposed by the Chief Minister of Maharashtra Shri Uddhav Thackeray all over the State including in Mumbai.

Aanjaan has been confined to the four walls of his home in Goregaon in Mumbai and feeling very desolate and bored and what’s more out of his wits.

Aanjjan concluded, “It was sweet music to me that senior actors are now needed not only by the producers but also the channel but care will be taken that they will shoot in a bio bubble as that is the need of the hour nowadays.

While signing off, Aanjjan told me that he was eagerly waiting for his film Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui as well as a film with Rajkumar Santoshi’s assistant, which will roll after the lockdown is lifted.
