Now, the actor and producer is back with celebrated Chinese director and screenwriter Jia Zhangke’s film Ash Is Purest White, starring Zhao Tao and Liao Fan. Set in contemporary China, it’s a love story with an intriguing plot. Since Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi which was released in 1999, Sanjay Suri has completed 20 years in the movies. His record is 38 films, eight as a producer, and he is not at all complaining! Though Sanjay Suri is planning to continue bringing films from other cultures to Indian theatres and is bringing next year an Egyptian film and hopes to bring more, he laments that what we are lacking is a destination for these films. According to DNA, Sanjay Suri reiterates that content is the king but then distribution is God ! “Smaller films don’t have budgets. Ticket prices are the same. People have to navigate through traffic and find parking space to go and watch a film in a theatre. It’s a challenge but people are doing it and continue to do it, which is heartening”, Sanjay Suri who was seen last in the web show Leila concludes. For more Bollywood updates, follow Bollyy!
