Actor Afzaal Khan, who is part of Yash and Mamta Patnaik’s Baazi Ishq Ki, says that he is sure the audience will love his role. He adds that his character has multiple shades.
“This character which I'm playing, Alok, has different shades. You can say he is a comic and, at the same time, he is negative. You will surely enjoy watching Alok Mama. I take 20 minutes to get ready with my hair and makeup. Rather than hair and makeup, I concentrate more on getting prepared for the scenes,” he says.
Ask him how much he relates to his character, and he says, “Working in this television industry for the last 23 years, I have done all sorts of characters. I try to make the character more interesting. In real life, I'm always the opposite with my characters because I mostly play negative roles on TV.”

Talking about his expectations from the show, he says, “I don't expect a lot from the show nowadays because things change due to TRPs. Aaj kahani kuch next week kahani kuch aur, I just go with the flow now. But the USP of this show, I guess, is the storyline.”
Working with Yash and Mamta Patnaik is very comfortable, he says, adding, “I have known Yash since 2004 so for me he is more like a brother. I have worked with Yash and Mamta in Sadda Haq in 2013 and now, after 10yrs, I'm working with them again. It's always a pleasure working with them. I feel I'm working for my family when I am with them.”
The TV industry has evolved over the years, he says. “The pattern of working has changed nowadays. Earlier there was no pressure, araam se kaam hota tha. Now there is so much pressure because of telecast issues. We don’t have banks and so everyone is pressured. There is no limit on working hours,” he adds.
