The festival of Holi is one of the most meaningful and colourful festivals of India, a festival that is celebrated by all communities with the same jubilation and gusto .

There have been wars , plagues , famines and tsunamis that have proved to be more powerful than a festival like Holi and the celebrations have to be cancelled or celebrated on a low key and there have been any number of times when the pond of colours has to be dry with no one daring to come out of their houses to put their lives at stake just to celebrate a festival like Holi

The death of Raj Kapoor brought the curtains down on the celebrations at R K Studios and now with the studio sold off to the Godrej Properties , their seems to be no hope of Holi ever being a grand affair at the studio built as a heaven of dreams by the greatest showman.

The fear of the underworld in the 90's brought to an end the celebration of Holi at the house of Amitabh Bachchan and Yash Chopra

And for the last one and a half years it is the Corona virus that has taken away whatever little is left of the festival and it doesnt look like the Corona virus is going to be kind to us even this year

And isnt the spread of Corona virus god's way of telling us that he has had enough of the way we are celebrating Holi and that it is high time that we found other , better and peaceful ways of celebrating this festival which was treated with dignity and respect once
