A poet or poetess does not have just one life , a poet has several lives in one life and one life when one life of the poet dies , there are so many other lives of the poet that are alive and keep the poet alive -  Ali Peter John

The well-known poetess and film lyricist Maya Govind died at her residence in Juhu , Mumbai on April 6 2022. She had been ailling for a long time and had been moving in and out of hospital for quit some time but her husband , writer Ram Govind and their son decided to keep her home while her treatment continues , but the end came on the morning of April 6 while she was still sleeping . She was 82 at the time of her death.

Maya Govind was a popular name all over places like Uttar Pradesh , Madya Pradesh and Rajasthan because of her poetry , kavi sammelan and mushairas . She had a number of books of poems in Hindi to her credit before she came down to Bombay and became popular in films and TV circles too.

She wrote songs for big filmmakers like Ramanand Sagar , Aatmaram and B R Chopra. And even as she wrote songs , she continued to write poetry and took part in mushairas and Kavi Sammelans all over the country . She had more than ten books on poetry , bajjans and other forms of popular poetry to her name .

She met the writer Ram Govind when they were working with Aatmaram and decided to get married. They have a son from this marriage . They were a part of the writing team of B R Films and walked with B R Chopra and Ravi Chopra till the very end .
