The story revolves around two army officers who were once a part of the same special covert unit but now one of the member from the team, major Jai Bakshi thoughts has changed after listening to some of the audio where he finds every other person in the system is corrupted while on the other hand his mentor, Colonel Abhay Singh has complete faith in the country's system. After understanding the real face of the system, Jai leave his job as an Army Officer and start his life as Abhimanyu Singh, who is a businessman and just want to make money. In the film, we can find Abhay chasing for Jai but failed to do as Jai is always one step ahead of his mentor, Abhay. Jai is misunderstood as the wrong guy and sold out by his mentor but later movie reveals the dark secret of corruption through the story of Baburao Shastri.

CAST AND CHARACTER

Sidharth Malhotra as Major Jai Bakshi and Manoj Bajpayee as Colonel Abhay Singh is playing the role of Indian Army Officer who were once a part of the same special covert unit. Rakul Preet as Soniya Gupta is playing the role of a geek yet beautiful, knows coding and decoding and how to deal with computers. she is playing the role of Sidharth's girlfriend in the movie. The movie also features Pooja chopra as Captain Maya Semwal who is also the part of same special covert unit. There are other important role which are played by Kumud Mishra as Retd. Lt. General Gurinder Singh, Naseeruddin Shah as Baburao Shastri and Adil Hussain as Mukesh Kapoor . Anupam kher is also seen in the movie as Tariq Ali.

PERFORMANCE

Sidharth and Manoj is seen for the very first time sharing the same screen space together. They both have strong roles in the movie. Manoj is very well known for his brilliant role and performance and it is the same which we experienced in this movie as well. Manoj has played the role of Colonel of Indian Army very well and did the utmost justice to the role. Sidharth, on the other hand tried his best to match up with the senior actor Manoj and played the role quite well. After a long time, Rakul got a chance to show her skills in Bollywood industry to which she has also played a very great part. Other Actors like Pooja Chopra who played the role of Captain Maya Semwal is also quite good. Kumud Mishra is seen as Retd. Lt. General Gurinder Singh playing the role of the corrupted guy of the system. He was also seen in many great movies like Airlift, Rustom, Tiger Zinda Hai. Adil Hussain as Mukesh Kapoor, who is seen as the guy dealing about arms business. Naseeruddin Shah and Anupam kher is having a small part in the movie but just like everytime they nailed their role in this just small part.

DIRECTION AND EDITING

The movie is directed by the great director Neeraj Pandey who has given some great movies to the industry like Naam Shabana, Special 26, Baby, Rustom and many more. He directed the characters of the actor very well. Apart from playing the strict Army Officer, Manoj Bajpayee can be seen with a funny side. He hold a strong persona as a mentor. Sidharth, on the other hand plays his character with a smart personality.

The name of the movie Aiyaary is used perfectly as Aiyaary means someone who can disguise himself/herself. There are many scenes where disguised is done perfectly. Sidharth in a complete lady-like avatar and Manoj Bajpayee surprised everyone when he changed his appearance completely to a 'Fakeer'.

There are many of the times when 'flashbacks' are used to tell the previous story. Moods are described perfectly with extra focus and time on the subject. Many other effects and transitions are used to depict the scenes very well.

MUSIC

The film has a very lovely track ' Lae Dooba' which will make you fall in love with a person. Rain sequence is also used in the song to make it more romantic. Background music is kept very strong and high. Background score is also on point.

In conclusion, this is another great movie by Neeraj Pandey with a great theme against corruption. Go and watch the chase of the Protégé by his mentor. And how things get unfolded and how the dark secrets of the system and corruption gets revealed. For me its a 3.5/5 for the movie.
