Amay Khopkar of Raj Thackeray’s Maharashtra Navanirman Sena had warned Akshay Kumar through his Face Book against dubbing his forthcoming film Mission Mangal and releasing it all over Maharashtra on August 15, because he feels that this move will grossly affect the interests of Marathi film producers who are even otherwise forced to not release any Marathi film whenever a big budget Hindi film like say Mission Mangal is slated for release on a national holiday.
Amey added that he does not have any objection at all if Akshay Kumar as a producer decides to shoot the Marathi version of his film Mission Mangal instead of dubbing it in Marathi, but if he persists in releasing the dubbed version of Mission Mangal all over Maharashtra it will go against the interests of the Marathi film producers and he will be forced to carry an agitation against the theatres in Maharashtra which decide to show the Marathi dubbed version and in the process the theatres run the risk of getting damaged.
In any case, films made in other Indian languages are not allowed to be dubbed in Kannada and released all over Karnataka because the producers association there has promulgated an order prohibiting the dubbing of films in Kannada as they want to protect the interests of the Kannadiga producers. The latest news is that Akshay Kumar who feared that the Maharashtra Navanirman volunteers will ransack theatres where Mission Mangal or its dubbed version will be screened, has agreed to bow down and graciously decided not to dub Mission Mangal in Marathi but release only the Hindi version all over India
