Khiladi Kumar of Bollywood who is currently busy in promoting his upcoming film Pad Man came forward to support the Khelo India initiative, which is to promote the importance and development of sports in India. On Tuesday, Akshay Kumar also attended the inaugural program of Khelo India School Games, at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi.
Talking about the initiative Akshay Kumar said, "I am delighted to see that for the first time ever, through the Khelo India School Games & the broadcast of it on the Star Sports network, young sporting talent is being recognized and rewarded instantly. But this is only the beginning and I hope that the Khelo India movement gets the right momentum through your support. So, come forward and support the Khelo India movement. Saath mein hai Hum, Khelo India!"
According to the official website of Khelo India, This programme has been introduced to revive the sports culture in India at the grass-root level by building a strong framework for all sports played in our country and establish India as a great sporting nation.With over 3500 athletes, 1250 officials and over 800 volunteers have come together over the course of nine days to be part of the Khelo India School Games.
Akshay Kumar's upcoming film Pad Man is all set to hit the theatres on 9 February. The film directed by R Balki also features Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte in the lead roles.
