The ultimate khiladi of Bollywood, Akshay Kumar, is returning to the small screen with the fifth season of The Great Indian Laughter Challenge (TGILC). This news was confirmed after a trailer of the show was posted on Instagram and Twitter by Akshay himself.
According to a leading news daily, Akshay will be the top judge and will be given the title of “Super Boss”. After shows like Khatron Ke Khiladi and Dare to Dance, Akshay will be returning to television after three years.
There is also buzz about Akshay’s co-star from the 90s, Raveena Tandon, will also be joining the show as a judge. Akshay and Raveena have worked together on several Bollywood blockbusters like Mohra, Khiladion ke Khiladi, Barood, Police Force: An Inside Story, and Daava. If the news is indeed true, the hit jodi will be reuniting on screen after 13 long years.
Meanwhile, rumours are rife about Sony TV considering Akshay as a host for the new season of Dus ka Dum after complications around Salman’s remuneration and dates arose.
In the comedy race, Star Plus is the latest to join the bandwagon with The Great Indian Laughter Challenge.
