Amidst the on-going COVID19 crises, the country is facing several challenges including a shortage of specific drugs and medical equipment.

Taking advantage of this gap in supply and demand, fraudsters are trying to manipulate the market to make a quick buck out of helpless people’s adversities.

In its latest episodes, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah depicts one such scenario in which Gokuldhaam Society’s Popatlal learns about a particular syndicate that is hoarding as well as selling spurious supplies of medicines and medical equipment.

As any honest journalist would do, Popatlal immediately springs into action and decides to investigate the crime.

He along with one of his colleagues and also Dr. Haathi form a team to carry out a sting operation to learn about the source of the crime.

The show, while continues to bring laughter to audiences, has also tried to address the ground realities of everyday people and society as a whole.

In its latest story too, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has attempted to confront reality as experienced by everyday people.

First aired in 2008, the show is running in its 13th year with upwards of 3100 episodes. Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is the only Indian show that concurrently runs the show in live-action, animation, and two different regional languages including Telugu and Marathi.
