This Teachers' Day, veteran producer Anand Pandit looks back at some of the defining experiences of his life and one name appears brighter than all the rest. He says, "Amitabh Bachchan has impacted countless lives and his success story continues to inspire people to rise above their challenges but for me, he is not just a legend, an institution but also my mentor and guide in both personal and professional life."
Referring to his cameo, ‘Fakt Mahilao Mate’, Pandit says, “This is the first time Amit Ji was delivering long Gujarati dialogues but he refused to get his voice dubbed and like a diligent newcomer, worked hard to get the nuances right. He made sure that he delivered the lines with perfect diction in his baritone. I have learned from him that one must never lose curiosity or the desire to learn something new every day."
Sharing more insights about the superstar, Pandit says, “Amit Ji even today works on his fitness like an actor who is just starting out. No matter how hard his day has been, he doesn't miss working out. He has inspired me to do the same and every time I meet him, he teaches me something new even without trying to. Everyone knows that his professionalism and work ethic are second to none and as a human being too, his humility is awe-inspiring. On film sets, even after so many decades in the business, he treats everyone equally, from the light boys to his co-stars."
Over the years, Pandit has developed a special bond with Bachchan and concludes, "I feel so blessed that he readily agrees to be a part of my films every time I ask, without so much as a second thought. His positive aura is one of the reasons why I always feel energised in his presence. He is truly a master of not just his craft but of life."
