‘Amitabh Bachchan is very encouraging, sensitive and supporting’: Sudha Varghese

Tell us about your experience as KBC Karamveer?

Sudha Varghese (SV): My experience on Kaun Banega Crorepati 10 was really nice. It gives an opportunity to the concerned people to think about the happenings in the society, community or world and understand our contribution towards the same. Why is the situation so negative and oppressive for women, why are they marginalized? So, episodes like these (KBC Karamveer) is a good way of educating the masses and community to become aware about the sufferings of the people. There is a hidden world that suffers from injustice, discrimination and issues that affects their lives. It is a good initiative and these kind of campaigns and episodes will help in changing the attitude towards injustice.

My experience was wonderful as I had never imagined coming on a show like Kaun Banega Crorepati. It’s a show that is very catchy. Especially with Amitabh Ji, he always maintains the charm, keep the vibe lively and the nation on their toes in the show. I like how heartily he was trying to understand what was being shown and shared. He is very encouraging, sensitive and supporting. He catches and understands issue people face deeply.

Tell us something about Nari Gunjan.

Sudha Varghese (SV): The organization is for the women who are most marginalized and are left out from the society. We are still at the growing stage but now I can see small changes coming because of the education. Now, I can feel that we are not frightened to take issues related to women. We need more people to go out and help more and more women.

What do you plan to do with the winning amount?

Sudha Varghese (SV): Our focus for the neediest women. The women who were landless, had no assets and today they have dared to follow one or the other livelihood options and are trying to become economically empowered and because of that they could send their children to study and are taking challenges to go into new avenues. We have 350 women doing agriculture and are doing food processing or started some shops, selling food or fruit. Great ambition and desires are always needed to go ahead.
