Anand Pandit Hopes That Courtroom drama Section 375 finds an Appreciative Audience in its re-release By Team Bollyy 16 Oct 2020 | Updated On 16 Oct 2020 06:17 IST in News & Gossip New Update Follow Us Share Cinema theatres across India opened on October 15 after over seven months with 50 per cent capacity and post pandemic safety measures in place. While theatre owners work hard to ensure compliance to all SoPs (Standard Operating Procedures), there is also confusion over which films will hit the screens during this time. Interestingly, there will be no common pan India releases. Different managements are screening an assortment of Hindi, English and regional language films that they think may merit a repeat viewing. Cinemas will however be replaying Section 375 among other picks like Dream Girl, John Wick, Joker and 1917. Anand Pandit who distributed Section 375 in September 2019 is happy that the film will get another opportunity to connect with audiences. As Pandit says, "The film was very well directed by Ajay Bahl and had powerful performances by Akshaye Khanna and Richa Chaddha. It brought back the courtroom drama genre that we don't get to see very often these days and had very well-written dialogues. The film revolves around the Section 375 of the Indian Penal Code and rape laws and takes the audience on a journey where it is hard to take a stand owing to the din surrounding a controversial case. That happens a lot of times in high profile cases and the film in that sense is a slice of life." Anand Pandit who is currently producing Chehre with Amitabh Bachchan and The Big Bull with Abhishek Bachchan, says he wants to back women centric stories with new and fresh perspectives. He states, "A female protagonist led, strong narrative is on my wish list and I will make such a film as soon as I get the right script." #Anand Pandit Related Articles Advertisment Latest Stories Read the Next Article
