The Kapoor clan shocked the entire nation earlier this year when they announced that they are going to auction the iconic RK Studios which was built by Raj Kapoor in Chembur around 70 years ago. The famous studio which was grounded yesterday saw a lot of people expressing their grief on social media. We got in touch with ace filmmaker and writer Anees Bazmee, who was an assistant director to Raj Kapoor before venturing out on his own in the industry.
In an exclusive conversation with E-Times, Anees Bazmee, a former assistant to Raj Kapoor expressed his anguish over the demolition of the RK Studios which was quite close to him. "Not only me but everyone from the industry, old and new, would be unhappy hearing this news as RK Studios was an iconic place. The Chembur area was known by the name of the studio back then. Several huge blockbuster films have been made out there. I have spent many years of my life out there as an assistant director of Raj Kapoor, and so I have a lot of memories attached to RK Studios. And I really feel very bad hearing the news of it being grounded."
Bazmee is a renowned name in the industry, who has entertained the audience with some delightful films like 'Ready', 'Welcome' and several others. He even revealed that he has completed with the shoot of his upcoming film 'Pagalpanti'. "We have completed with the shoot of the film and currently we are working on the editing part of it," he said.
Meanwhile, according to reports, the Kapoors had to take the heart-wrenching call after making many attempts to revive it failed as a major part of the studio was gutted in a fire that had broke out in 2017.
