ANIL KAPOOR TO PRODUCE A NETFLIX ORIGINAL SHOW FOR INDIA?
With the fast pace of the web Series and digital shows streaming across the world, Anil Kapoor will be soon producing a Netflix series for India. The web world is growing immensely where we can find Bollywood stars to put their hands in web as well. Superstar Shah Rukh Khan is going to produce his web series with Netflix India and now if the trade sources are to be believed Anil Kapoor is also planning for the same. The web series will be based on Aravind Adiga’s 2016 book Selection Day which will depict the story about cricket and corruption set in contemporary urban India.
According to a leading daily, “The streaming giant Netflix is making a series based on the book ‘Selection Day’ and Anil Kapoor will be producing the show. In addition, the actor reportedly has booked a Netflix series and will star in it. The series will be helmed by ‘The Last King of Scotland’ director, Kevin MacDonald.”
Actor Saif Ali Khan is the first mainstream actor to star in a Netflix show ‘Sacred Games’ which will be based on Vikram Chandra’s 2006 thriller novel Sacred Games. The series revolves around a contemptuous Mumbai city cop who obtains an anonymous cue affirming him a break to capture a crime lord but with further expedition in the case, it proves out that there’s a much larger game in play.
Karan Johar’s Dharma Production has also reportedly locked in a deal with Netflix for a female-centric show.
