Patriotism, History & Cinema are old companions. Makers of Indian cinema have always glorified Indian History in films which have educated millennia’s about freedom, independence, mythology etc. One such incident which ignites the sense of patriotism is The Jallianwala Bagh Massacre also known as the Amritsar Massacre which marks one of the darkest moments in Indian history. The maker of super hit films like London Dreams is now all set to make a film with a historical backdrop to pay homage to the victims of the devastating incident and yet narrating a story based on today’s generation . “The film portrays what bravery, sacrifice and tragedy in the freedom struggle of thousands of innocent men & women. With a cast of A lister actors, directors & producers the film can set a new bench mark. My film sets out to talk more about the history than the film which is more about a story that happens after 100 years of the massacre" says Sarabjit 'Bonny' Dugal. The tragic massacre of innocent protesters in Jallianwala Bagh in Amritsar on April 13, 1919 remains one of the most horrific memories of British colonial rule in India. This shameful military action against locals peacefully protesting against the oppressive Rowlatt Act has since received worldwide condemnation.
