ANR 100th anniversary: Today is the 100th birth anniversary of famous Telugu actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao. To commemorate this centenary, an iconic statue of the great actor was unveiled at Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad. The honor of inaugurating this statue was given to former Vice President of India M. Venkaiah Naidu. The statue was unveiled by Vice President of India M Venkaiah Naidu in the presence of many film personalities including Nagarjuna, Naga Chaitanya, Akhil Akkineni, Ram Charan, Mahesh Babu and wife Namrata Shirodkar, and others.

The official Twitter handle of Annapurna Studio shared a video of Venkaiah Naidu unveiling the statue. Another post from the handle read: "A legend in his own right. A pillar of Telugu cinema. Marking the birth anniversary of actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao on 20 September 2023, Nagarjuna and his family inaugurated his Panchaloha statue at Annapurna Studios. Vice President Venkaiah Naidu inaugurated the statue of ANR. Many celebs from the Telugu industry joined in to celebrate and remember ANR. Akkineni Nageswara Rao was an actor and producer

Nageswara Rao, widely known as ANR, Was an Indian actor and producer who acted in many historical films in his career spanning seventy-five years and became one of the most prominent personalities of Telugu cinema. ANR acted in more than 255 films and is known for his romantic roles in films. He was one of the key players in shifting the Telugu film industry from Madras to Hyderabad in the 1970s. Akkineni Nageswara Rao was born on 20 September 1924 in a lower-middle-class family in Andhra Pradesh. Later he became the biggest superstar of Telugu cinema. A. N. Rao died on 22 January 2014 due to stomach cancer.

Akkineni Nageswara Rao was awarded the Padma Bhushan award

Akkineni Nageswara Rao is a recipient of the Padma Bhushan Award as well as the Padma Bhushan Award. He also received the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. He made a huge contribution in his seventy-five years long career. Nageswara Rao acted in several biopics ranging from Telugu poet Tenali Ramakrishna to Kalidasa and Kabir and Marathi saint Tukaram. ANR played a major role in establishing the Telugu film industry in Hyderabad instead of Chennai by establishing Annapurna Studios in his wife's name in the 1970s.
