This time classical Jalota has amazingly ‘flirted’ with the concept of “how true infinite love is ‘deep-rooted’ and not just a passing attraction- infatuation” .

But much more emotionally-profound with his latest trending maverick track ‘Love Grows’ which connects with all ages.

The inspiring soothing song is written by internationally acclaimed prolific poetess-author Dr. Paramita Mukherjee Mullick who is also the charismatic lyrical-narrator.

The music video with vibrant visuals shot by Amarbir Singh, is released on Tips Music’s OTT Volume Originals and has been very well-received.

Speaking to me exclusively, the iconic singer-composer –film producer-actor Anup explains, “ Over the past four decades, besides Hindi-Urdu I have already sung in so many Indian regional languages.

So I felt this was the right time to deviate into the angrezi bhasha. The response to my latest English track (whose music arrangements are by the hugely talented Jolly-da Mukherjee) from both my Indian and NRI fans is overwhelming.

So much so, that I am now also planning to record more English tracks and albums ( both devotional and non-devotional, pop and rap) with top foreign singers and also with ISKCON ,” enthuses adventurous Jalota who always has this passion for musical experiments..

What is so different and about ‘Love Grows’. “ It’s a soothing lyrical inspiring melody that actually grows on you.

Instead of the clichéd lovey-dovey couples, in the visuals we have shown awesome locations and this US-based fabulous dancer Manya Agarwal who with her ballet-like graceful swirling slow-motion dance moves is stunning.

These ethereal dance visuals have also added international vibes augmenting impact of the English lyrics,” smiles Anup whose initiative for singing in English was apparently inspired seven years ago.

Recalls Anup, “ Way back in 2015, I was honored with the prestigious British Parliament’s Annual Globe Award for my outstanding contribution to the global music industry.

The coveted accolade was presented to me by Speaker John Bercow at a special function in the House of Commons.

Besides the award they made this special farmaaish that I should sing ‘live’ on the occasion.

Obviously, the British MPs and some guests could not understand the lyrics and the nuances of bhajan and ghazals.

But they connected with the spiritual raagas, the aalaps, the sargams, the rhythmic metre of each of my songs.

They would respond with thundering ovations,” insists Jalota who unplugged his vocal ‘showmanship’ on the ‘fidaa’ foreigners .

Many of them came up to me after that show and said why don’t you also sing in English. That has finally happened now in 2022,” reveals Jalota , who besides being a harmonium-maestro, also strums the Spanish guitar very well.
