Anupam Kher braves auto rickshaw alongside Nargis Fakhri, Tarun Rathi to clean Versova beaches along with Shiv Shastri Balboa team. Driver Imran gets two premiere tickets!
It is no ordinary morning. Specially when actor Anupam Kher braves the Mumbai roads in an auto rickshaw to ensure he reaches the beach for a cleaning and motivational experience to students, villagers and local fenugreek farmers, besides autorickshawwallahs to clean the beaches alongside Tarun Rathi Foundation.
Donning yellow gloves and wearing a radiant smile, bearing the heat and the sands that seem to make way under our feet, Anupam Kher and Tarun Rathi set about the beach walk and cleaning mission. Aiding Anupam Kher and Tarun Rathi to make a clean sweep are social activist Swarnima Rathi, director Ajayan Venugopalan, actress Nargis Fakhri and Asha Varieth of Shiv Shastri Balboa team.
Autorickshawallah Imran who drove Kher to the beach is so motivated by the two Premiere ticket gift by Kher that he walks along the beach stretch cleaning portions. College students, local children and villagers join in. Tarun Rathi takes Anupam Kher on a tour to see the fresh water shallow well dug by villager Santosh to ensure the fenugreek crops grow well.
Tarun Rathi Foundation, on a regular basis, has been working empowering farmers and citizens alike, changing the face of Versova beach to make it garbage and plastic-free. Even when the cleanup is celebrated by an exciting meal of vadapav and garam chai, each individual including children ensure that on their own, they use the garbage bin, a move that is much-appreciated when oceans and marine life cry to be plastic-free.
As we watch Team Shiv Shastri Balboa striving to make beaches cleaner joining hands with Tarun Rathi Foundation with Anupam Kher, Nargis Fakhri, Tarun Rathi, Ajayan Venugopalan and Asha Varieth of Shiv Shastri Balboa team alongside social activist and Swarnima Rathi, fenugreek farmers and local villagers, you know that there is nothing that keeps the earth alive more than the efforts of a few good men. And women, of course!
