Anurita Jha Plays The Lead In Rozana, A Short Film On Homosexuality

Anurita Jha made her acting debut with Anurag Kashyap’s super hit movie Gangs Of Wasseypur-1. She played the role of Shama Parveen and was also seen in the second part of Gangs Of Wasseypur. Besides being an actor, she is also a model and has won ‘Channel V- Get Gorgeous’. Anurita has been a part of Ford Supermodel Competition and has walked for several fashion shows in Delhi. Later on, she went on to do a movie ‘Mithila Makhaan’ in the Maithili language. The movie won Best Maithili Film in the 63^rd National Film Awards under the language section. It also went on to become nominated at the International Film Festival of South Asia, Toronto, Jagran Film Festival and the National Film Festival. Recently, her short film ‘Rozana’ was released. The movie directed by Raj Rishi touches the bold subject of homosexuality. She plays the love interest of a girl who is married to a guy and whose happiness lies in the memories of the time she had spent with her partner until she is brought back to reality. She has also done movies like ‘Baaraat Company’ and ‘Jugni’, a romantic musical film. The film has been selected to be shown at several film festivals including London Indian Film Festival, the Indian Film Festival, The Hague, Avvantura film festival, Zadar, River to River Indian Film Festival, FOG festival, USA etc.
