ANUSHKA SHARMA TO OPEN AN ANIMAL SHELTER ON HER 30TH BIRTHDAY

Anushka Sharma has been the flag bearer and light guider for animal rights for years. Anushka has always spoken and supported animal welfare. The actress has always wanted to build a shelter for old and injured animals.

Today, on her 30th birthday, the actress is finally making her dream come true as she is building a shelter on more than six acres of land on the outskirts of Mumbai. Today the construction of the shelter is going to start. A leading daily quoted its source saying; “Anushka has always wanted to build a special home for all animals in need. Ageing pets, injured, stranded creatures and strays can find a safe home with sufficient space to play and live their lives. She did extensive research for the shelter for over three years. Anushka has been taking time out and visiting such institutions across India. She wanted to start the facility only when she was absolutely ready to run it. Her main focus was to ensure hygiene, health and protection for all the animals in need.”

The daily contacted Anushka Sharma to ask about the same, and she said; “This is an incredibly special moment for me and the fact that my dream is coming true on my birthday makes it the most memorable one yet. This project is extremely close to my heart and I will work incessantly to help as many animals in need as I can.”
