ANUSHKA SHARMA'S 'PARI' MANAGES TO GAIN DECENT FIGURES IN ITS FIRST WEEKEND

Anushka Sharma's Pari has managed to earn decent numbers by the end of its first weekend. The thriller movie did not record a tight hold on Saturday and Sunday but still managed to sell the tickets. The film earned positive review from critics and audience and managed to have a hold on the ticket window even on weekdays.

After opening to Rs 4.36 on Friday, Pari went on to collect Rs 5.47 on Saturday and Rs 5.51 on Sunday. This makes the total box office collections of the film in its first weekend in India to be R 15.34 crore, which is decent enough for a niche film like Pari.

Co-producer Arjun N Kapoor of KriArj Entertainment said, "We are extremely satisfied with the release weekend performance of PARI. Despite the truncated nature of this weekend (due to Holi festivities and the trade strike in many south markets), the film was able to hold the business, riding on good audience response after opening to rave reviews. A unique storyline, catchy atmospherics and superb performances, especially Anushka's, made it an exciting watch. To add to it, our unique marketing strategy of building the 'atmospheric horror' through screamers, teasers and other on-ground activations piqued the audience interest right up to its release."

The movie also stars Parambrata Chatterje, Rajat Kapoor and Ritabhari Chakraborty in significant roles and has set a new benchmark in the Hindi Horror Genre.
