The latest web series from the stable of Zee5- Hutatma in Marathi boasts of a stellar cast comprising of versatile actors like Anjali Patil, Sachin Khedekar, Vikram Gokhale, Mohan Agashe, Ravindra Mankani, Ashwini Kalsekar, Chhaya Kadam and Jayant Sawarkar has a pleasant surprise in the form of the veteran actor Arif Zakaria who had shot to fame with his mind blowing role of a eunuch in Kalpana Azmi’s film Darmiyaan which was released way back in 1997. It may be recalled that the role was originally slated to be played by Shah Ruklh Khan, who was an emerging star in those times but he chickened out at the eleventh hour after he developed cold feet. Arif says that he had to work a lot on the way he walked with a particular gait similar to that of Nehru and also see to it that his voice sounded very similar to that of the late Jawaharlal Nehru in the web series, which has been directed by Jayprad Desai and produced by Jayaprad Desai and Rekha Singh along with Pragya Singh. The web series Hutatma is based on Meena Deshpande’s novel Hutatma and is dedicated to the memory of Acharya Atre. Arif said that egged by the tremendous response to the first season, Jayprad has asked him to start shooting for the second season of the web series. The first season has only seven episodes
