The gallery, which originally started its operations in Lower Parel in 2008, has been instrumental in showcasing the work of both emerging and established artists from around the world. It has hosted residencies and studio exhibitions with international artists such as Mahbabur Rahman and Zenita Komad. Over 15 years, the

gallery has supported several young artists and shown the work of established masters such as the late Akbar Padamsee.

FORM, the opening display of AMCA in Colaba, will feature works of art by four artists ranging from the 1960s till the last decade. Their drawings, paintings, and sculptures, selected from private collections, will offer art lovers a chance to view and understand the unique ways each of them handles ‘form’.

Post the inaugural event at 5PM, the gallery was open to the public in keeping with Art Night Thursday. Following the new opening, AMCA will gear up to participate in the upcoming Mumbai Gallery Weekend to be held in early 2024.
