The film sheds light on the most important issue of drought and need for water conservation. It features stars like Anant Jog, Hansraj Jagtap, Sriya Mastekar, Chaitra Bhujbal, Ganesh Mayekar, Yatin Karyekar, Ranjit Jog, Jairaj Nair, Ashish Ningurkar and Upendra Datey. Ashish said "Our film has also received five awards in different categories (which includes the best feature film, Best Writer, Best Subject, Best Poster and for the title song). We came up with the concept of 'Ek Hota Pani' to draw the attention of the audience to the most important issue of water, which is crucial in our life" Rohan Satghare's directorial 'Ek Hota Pani' was produced under the banner of V.P. World Movies and also produced by Vijay Tiwari and Pravin Bhujbal. Last year this film had already received appreciation at many film festivals and now with its selection for Mysore International Water Film Festival, the makers have added one more feather in their cap.
