ATIF ASLAM REFUSES TO PROMOTE SUDHIR MISHRA'S FILM 'DAAS DEV' BECAUSE OF BABUL SUPRIYO?

Daas Dev is an upcoming romantic-political-thriller movie which features Richa Chadha as Paro, Aditi Rao Hydari as Chanda and Rahul Bhatt as Dev. The movie is directed by Sudhir Mishra and is produced by Sanjeev Kumar. Daas Dev is based on Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay's cult classic Devdaas and tells a tale of lust for power and how it obstructs love. One of the song from the movie 'Sehmi hai Dhadak' is sung by Pakistani singer Atif Aslam.

After the controversy created by Babul Supriyo during the release of the movie 'Welcome to New York' saying he is unable to comprehend the need to cross the border for entertainment content at a time when tension on the India-Pakistan border has escalated, yet again he commented on Atif Aslam Song 'Dil Diyan Gallan' saying "I am also not sure why Atif Aslam got to sing Dil Diya Gallan when our very own Arijit Singh could have done a better job. The FM stations played the song galore while news channels announced the name of our soldiers martyred."

In the middle of all these, Director Sudhir Mishra is upset with Atif Aslam's unusual behaviour of not promoting and shrugging off requests to promote his latest song from the movie. Producer Sanjeev kumar feels that the comments made by Babul Supriyo must have hurt Atif's sentiment. Filmmakers are requesting him to promote the song on his social media handles and to conduct a Facebook live sessions but Atif is continuously avoiding it.

Kumar says to a leading daily, "Atif said he will do it, but it hasn't been done. I'm not sure why he isn't taking part in the activity, but, as a producer, I see that work promised hasn't been executed. He hasn't delivered on his word." He futher added, "We need Atif for this song. He has 20 million followers on social media. Imagine the kind of traction we would have got if he had promoted it."

The release date of the film has been now pushed for the third time and will now release on 23rd March 2018.
